I am blessed to be staying, to be living in a family whose values, concerns, preferences, desires, are so similar to mine. It has made, and provides ,a special quality of experience for my "foreign" trip. --- Their reality, as it exists in the political situation, poses a threat and suggests a frighting future.

The parties will not compromise and/or cooperate. The harsh political dysfunction in the US Congress is a foretaste of what I see happening here. A marriage gone bad because sharing and working together has been lost. Micro - Macro. A country gone bad, a Euro union gone bad.

After they voted Antonious asked what I would like to see. We went to the Jewish quarter. The Nazi's took them all away during WWII. Now other's live here.

Yesterday at lunch Maria served a vegetable "pie" from a frying pan while we were watching a very good movie about post WWII American prosecution of German war criminals. Harvey Keitel. Based on a true story of a world famous orchestra conductor.

Maria and I have been talking this morning like two old friendly parents who have known each other for years. She suddenly said "Oh, I am late for school, I must evaporate."
Vern- such a rich experience, happening in the middle of brewing chaos of the Greek political world, and perhaps our own world here in the USA. Love it.
